Colleen Budy

Colleen Budy

Registered Physiotherapist

Colleen Budy founded Twin Rinks Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in 1994. She graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of Manitoba in 1988. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and has been a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMPT) since 1998. As well, she is certified in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (Gunn IMS), and is certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI).Colleen has 30 years of experience in evaluating and treating orthopaedic and sports injuries. She performs a detailed movement exam using an integrated approach that looks at the entire musculoskeletal system to find the root of the problem. Each patient is unique and treatment plans are individualized to suit each patient’s needs. Colleen uses a variety of evidence-based modalities, with a strong focus on manual therapy and exercise prescription.Colleen is passionate about the importance of educating patients on the mechanics of their body and how to prevent injury. She believes in partnering with patients to assist them in recovering from their injuries to return them to their desired activities and hobbies.As a strong believer in giving back to the community, Colleen has extensive volunteer experience with on field and on ice sports teams. She has had the opportunity to work with hockey, football, dance and gymnastics teams.Colleen enjoys an active lifestyle. Her athletic pursuits include running, skiing, paddle boarding, swimming, yoga, and weight training. She is also an avid gardener.

Arnout Stams

Arnout Stams

Arnout was born in Belgium and graduated cum laude with a degree in Physiotherapy from Brussels in 1990 and in 1999 from Open University BC. Arnout became a partner in Twin Rinks Physiotherapy Clinic in 2011. Throughout his 32 year career as a manual physiotherapist, Arnout has gained extensive experience treating a wide range of orthopedic and sports injuries focusing on the integration of manual and manipulative therapy, IMS (intramuscular stimulation) and Injury Rehab prescription. His approach to treatment of his patients consists of not only treating the symptoms but as well finding the cause of the problem. In the past Arnout has gained extensive experience dealing with soccer injuries as he was a physiotherapist at Racing Genk (Belgian Jupiler League) and the head physio for Vancouver Whitecaps Women’s program (2001-2007). Arnout has fulfilled numerous volunteer positions in the community such as being the Chair of Physiotherapy for the BC Summer games (2010) and the BC games for athletes with a disability (2001). Over the past 20 years Arnout has been an external physiotherapist source for the Varsity teams of the Trinity Western University Spartans (soccer, volleyball, basket, hockey). Growing up in Belgium Arnout played competitive soccer and tennis and this led him to pursue a career as a physiotherapist.

Steven Solomon

Steven Solomon

Steven obtained a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology from Andrews University in Berrien Springs Michigan in 1998, and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999. Steve is certified in Chan Gunn IMS (intramuscular stimulation from Gunn Intramuscular Neural Stimulation Institute. Steven has completed the five levels of the orthopedic division manual therapy curriculum, and his Part A and B manual therapy exams successfully. His practice focuses on treating orthopedic and sports related injuries through the use of manual therapy techniques including joint mobilization and manipulation and therapeutic exercise. Steven has a passion for golf, skiing, and CrossFit.

Nicola Parolin

Nicola Parolin

Registered Physiotherapist

Nicola grew up in the lower mainland. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from SFU and a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from UBC. Nicola has taken post graduate courses in manual therapy and has extensive experience in pain management, physical rehabilitation, rehabilitation exercise and holds certification in acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. She is certified in IMS Gunn Intramuscular Neural Stimulation and is a member of iSTOP (Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain). Nicola was a member of SFU's women's varsity volleyball team as well as the Provincial and National netball teams. She represented Canada in netball for multiple World Championships, the World Games and the Commonwealth Games. Nicola continues to be involved in netball.

Michael Clark

Growing up, sports were a priority for Mike, and it wasn’t long before he determined a career in physiotherapy would be a natural fit. Mike played rugby for many years, and he now competes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Given these passions, Mike especially enjoys treating combat and collision sport athletes. Mike completed both his Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Human Kinetics degrees from the University of British Columbia. He is dedicated to continuing education, earning a Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMPT), as well as certifications in dry needling (IMS) and anatomical acupuncture. Mike is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, teaching manual therapy within the Masters of Physiotherapy program. Mike employs a variety of treatments, including spinal manipulation, IMS, shockwave, and exercise prescription. He often treats above and below the injury to establish efficient movement strategies, and unload affected structures.

Sana Goldan

Sana Goldan

Registered Physiotherapist

Sana was born and raised in the lower mainland. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University, and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. He has completed the 5 levels of the Canadian Orthopaedic Division curriculum and successfully passed the advanced exams and is also qualified to provide IMS/dry needling. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Sana worked at the Canadian Space Agency where he helped manage exercise and rehabilitation programs for Canadian astronauts. He has also worked as the on field therapist for a number of rugby and lacrosse teams. Outside of work, he enjoys lifting weights, hiking, skiing, and spending time with his kids.

Suzy Kim

Suzy Kim

Registered Physiotherapist

Suzy graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences and Masters of Physical Therapy from UBC. Her treatment focuses on working collaboratively with clients to rehabilitate injury and establish resilience to future episodes. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, weightlifting and golf.

Brayden Gant

Brayden is a sport enthusiast with a strong passion for soccer. During his youth career, he played at the national level and was a part of the Vancouver Whitecaps development program. Brayden went on to play at Trinity Western University, where he majored in human kinetics, and captained the men’s soccer team. During his athletic career, he dealt with several injuries and truly recognized the essential role of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation process. This inspired Brayden to further his education and obtain his Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. Brayden is a firm believer of evidence-based practice and uses an individualized approach when treating his clients. He is goal-oriented and enjoys empowering his clients as they return from injury and move forward to achieve their ambitions.

Jyoti Samrat

Jyoti Samrat

Jyoti completed her degree in physiotherapy from India in 2011. She has worked in different clinical settings including hospitals and rehab centres. Jyoti has completed her Orthopaedic Level 1 course in manual therapy and pursuing advanced levels of manual therapy to enhance her skills and expertise in the field. She has also completed both the Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Dry Needling Courses with Acupuncture Canada

As a dedicated and compassionate pelvic floor physiotherapist, Jyoti is committed to enhance the women's health and well-being through specialized care focused on the intricate and vital pelvic floor muscles. She has been treating a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions, including but not limited to pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse, and postpartum recovery. She collaborates with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that may include pelvic floor exercises, manual therapy, and education on lifestyle modifications to optimize pelvic health.

She has also completed advanced training for vestibular rehabilitation to help her clients overcome challenges related to balance and vestibular disorders. Her mission is to restore confidence and functionality to those experiencing dizziness, vertigo, and other vestibular issues.

Doris Lombana

Doris Lombana

Registered Massage Therapist

Doris obtained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Rosario University in Bogota, Columbia. After immigrating to Canada, Doris graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and is licensed with the College of Massage Therapists of B.C. Doris has been a part of Twin Rinks for over 20 years. Doris has volunteered her time and skill as a Massage Therapist at a variety of community sporting events including the B.C. Special Olympics. Her primary goal is to reduce pain and maximize range of motion in a timely manner. In her spare time, Doris enjoys walking in nature, painting, and spending time with her family.

Sheri Hutchings

Sheri Hutchings

Registered Massage Therapist

Sheri graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy 3000 hour program in 2011. During her practicum she had the chance to work with a broad base of patients including those suffering from sports injuries, headaches, spinal injuries and nerve degeneration. Sheri has volunteered at different bike and running races around the lower mainland providing pre and post event treatments. She is an avid sports enthusiast and currently coaches her daughter's two soccer teams in Maple Ridge. She loves spending her time outdoors with her family, camping, hiking and fishing on the lakes.

Sarah Dennis

Sarah Dennis

Registered Massage Therapist

Sarah graduated from CDI’s RMT program and is passionate about helping people feel their best. With training in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, pathologies, and injuries, she is committed to helping clients achieve their goals.

Her approach to massage therapy encompasses a variety of techniques, including; deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and the restorative benefits of Swedish massage. Sarah’s training and practical experience has taught her how to adapt her treatments to fit each person’s unique needs.

In addition to her massage therapy expertise, Sarah is a certified yoga teacher. She integrates a variety of stretches into her sessions to facilitate optimal healing for her clients.

When Sarah is not working, she is either spending time with her husband and two kids, weight training, attending CrossFit classes, or practicing yoga. These things inspire her to stay healthy and pass that positivity to her clients.

Sandy Hsu

Registered Kinesiologist

Sandy graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Master of Kinesiology in Coaching Sciences. Her areas of interest include sport and exercise pedagogy, performance planning and injury prevention and rehabilitation. Since 2008, she has been an active basketball coach and fitness leader, working with youth and adults of all ages and abilities. She believes in using evidence-based approaches to support physical fitness development and strives to empower individuals by providing them with the proper tools and knowledge to accomplish their goals. Whether it's your health, fitness or athletic performance, Sandy is committed to helping you thrive. Outside of work, you can find Sandy in the gym playing basketball and volleyball, or outdoors hiking and biking.

Kassidy Hards

Kassidy Hards

Registered Kinesiologist

Kassidy graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Major in Sports Performance. She has several years of experience being a student kinesiologist for UofA varsity athletes on the Women’s Hockey and Swimming team, specializing in assisting with acute and chronic injury rehabilitation and prevention. Kassidy's rehabilitation approach stems from her past as a competitive gymnast, which ignited her passion and appreciation for human movement. She uses functional movement approaches to educate and provide individuals with the proper tools to enhance every-day quality of life, manage pain, and prevent injury.
