Do I need a Doctor's referral?

You do not need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist or registered massage therapist in BC unless you have a WCB or ICBC Claim.

How long are my appointments?

This depends on the injury and type of treatment you require.  For physiotherapy, an initial assessment can be up to 60 minutes.  Subsequent visits will be approximately 30 minutes.  For registered massage therapy, an initial visit will be 40 minutes and subsequent visits can be booked for 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes.

Does the government pay for my treatment?

If you qualify for the Medical Services Plan (MSP) Premium Assistance, the provincial government does provide funding for physiotherapy and massage therapy .  If you are unsure wheather you qualify for MSP Premium Assistance, our staff can check for you or visit the Medical Services Plan site

Will my extended health care plan cover the cost of my treatment?

Plans vary so you need to check with your employer or insurer but most extended health care plans do provide physiotherapy and massage therapy coverage.  At this time, only Greenshield has direct electronic billing options and we are able to bill these plans directly. Otherwise, you can submit to your plan in order to recover your expenses.

We will issue a receipt for each vist and you will need to submit your receipts to the insurer for reimbursement.

What if I am unable to attend my appointment?

Please contact us immediately if you are unable to attend your appointment. You can leave a message on the answering machine outside of clinic hours.  We ask for at least 24 hours notice if possible.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing so that you can expose the area that needs to be evaluated and treated.  We also have patient gowns if required.

What are my payment options?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit/Interac and cash. A receipt will always be issued so that you may send it to your private/extended health plan for reimbursement if applicable.
